We went to the Horizons Seafood buffet primarily for the crab legs on a Saturday evening. Upon arrival, many of the food trays were empty, but they seemed to replenish them quick enough. The "hot crab legs" still had chunks of ice on them. I only had one cluster that was warmer than room temperature. For almost $40 a head, I was very displeased with the quality and presentation of the food. The staff were very busy and seemed unhappy. We didn't get a water refill until after we paid our bill.

My friends and I wanted a nice place to get seafood that was NOT a buffet. Although his place has a lovely buffet, we all enjoyed delicious appetizers (crab dip-on point, scallops- delicious); and the crab stuffed lobster was AMAZING. The service was okay. Would def recommend.

I chose Hoizons based on reviews, but I have to say it wasn't all that great. The room is darkened to hide the hideously old and stained carpet, the food was average and not very well stocked, with service probably the best thing I can say. I would say it's not worth the money. Go to BLU on the bayside if you want Seafood. Unfortunately the Pasta bar chef would not use a clean pan to make a pasta dish with chicken for one our guests who had seafood allergies. Another get'm in and out joint on the OC strip that is more keen to swipe your card then treat you like a dinner guest. Not recommended.

We were there for dinner tonight and EVERYTHING was wonderful from our awesome young waiter John to the great food. We had the buffet that they only have on Friday and Saturday nights..it was so perfect that we made a point to shake the young mans hand who took our order and thank him as well as tip him well and we told the manager about our experience..he wasn't hard to find because he was in the dining room most of the time we were there not hiding in the office. Oh and the view was also incredible. Highly recommend!!

It was between here and Bonfire and after going to Bonfire and looking at the food, this was a MUCH BETTEr choice. I came for all you can eat seafood and the crab legs were huge, fresh and sweet. The steamed shrimp had an amazing flavor, very fresh. They had oysters and clams in the half shell which looked great. I tried the pasta station which was awesome, prime rib which was tender but very very fatty, seafood Newburg yum! Mashed potatoes were almost addicting. Didn't try the rest of the buffet bc I wasn't paying $35 for chicken, ribs and corn but they looked great. The salad bar was really a huge let down with little actual garden salad options but crab soup made up for it. Desert station was small but hit the spot the same. The atmosphere is clean, bright and a beautiful ocean view really made for a nice setting. The patrons were an older crowd, dressed well and didn't look like typical "buffet" people. Service was great and Nikolay was a smiling face I welcomed. We would definitely come back for those crab legs and shrimp. If you would rather have several great quality items in a nice sit down setting this is your place.

Absolutely loved this place! I'm not a huge fan of buffets (considering food quality is always below par) but I was taken by surprise at this place. The view overlooks the beautiful ocean and they have a smorgasbord of food! There is prime rib to crab legs and from fresh salad bar to desserts. There is so much food that I took at least 5 different trips. Now, not ALL of it is amazing but I will say the majority I tried was delicious. It's a more expensive buffet but that's what you get if you want better quality. I got so much crab legs that I actually couldn't even think about eating crabs again the rest of the trip. There are deals on certain days/times but I'm not 100% sure what it is. Check this place out, it's good stuff!

This buffet is located inside a hotel. The atmosphere is a bit dated but I think that added to its charm. It felt like I was on the inside of a classy cruise ship. They had fresh soup, salad, cheeses, a pasta station with a variety of mix-ins (including shrimp and scallops), chilled and hot crab legs (the chilled ones were DELICIOUS), oysters, shrimp, hot foods (sweet potatoes, mac n cheese, fried chicken, ribs, mashed potatoes, fried clams, potato wedges, fish of the day, a carving station, lasagna, and I'm sure I'm missing a few). The desserts were pretty good. They had German Chocolate cake, Black Forest, cheesecake, mini cupcakes, lemon pie and mousse pie. The crab legs were worth the price alone. Juicy, thick and not too salty.

I know what to expect when it comes to seafood buffets, usually my expectations aren't that high. All I want is plentiful amounts of crab legs. This place was beyond my expectations and I normally don't think restaurants attached to hotels are that great. There was plentiful amounts of hot or cold crab legs, while I am partial to hot legs, the cold ones were surprisingly delicious. The great thing about the legs were that they were good sized legs and had great flavor. Each leg packed plenty of meat and tasted sweet and fresh. The other food was also very good ranging from prime rib, fried chicken, mash potatoes, to raw oysters. Overall probably one of the best seafood buffets I have been to and I was surprised to find it at the OC. The only downside is that you can expect to pay for it, at 37.95 per person, it can be a little steep.
(5)Jackie B.
Typically, buffets are not my thing. Until now. The food was amazing! Everything was incredibly fresh; from the oysters to the prime rib to the veggies. This may have been the best I ever had mac and cheese, ever. Also, our server Nickolay was fantastic! If you are in OC, this is the place to go!
(5)Chris V.
Been coming here for 20 years. Best food in Ocean City. Buffet and filet are highly recommended. Don't worry about price well worth it.
(5)Fred K.
5 stars for the AYCE seafood dinner buffet. Their Ocean Club nightclub, which starts up after the dinner service is finished, FYI, is really geared towards the elderly crowd. Anyways, going back to the food, stick with their snow crab legs (offer both cold and hot; hot being the best), raw oysters, clams, chilled shrimp and their very tender and moist prime rib. Best seafood buffet in Ocean City! So good and tasty!! If you are looking for seafood buffet, this is the place. Forget Phillips, Embers, Bonfire and check this place out. They have other foods like corn on the cob, fried clams, BBQ ribs, and others. Desserts were okay. Liked their ice cream station though. Who knew that the Clarion Resort (formerly Sheraton Fountainbleu) would have this setup and great oceanfront views too. Highly recommend this place in OC.

My friend and I were going to go to another buffet, but due to the popularity of this place on Yelp, we decided to come here instead. And I'm glad that we did! Although the buffet is a little pricey, it's worth it! It starts off with a soup of the day, followed by salad, some cold seafood options (crab legs, steamed shrimp, etc.) and various pasta salads. After that, there's a pasta station where you can choose between several different pasta types and sauces and add in some extras such as shrimp and scallops. Then comes the hot bar - amazing! Sweet potatoes, ribs, catch of the day, Mac and cheese, lasagna...everything I tried was delicious. Finally there's a carving station. I didn't try it so I can't comment, but I'm sure it's good. The dessert table includes several cakes and small pastries. My only issue with this was that the cakes were a bit messy to cut. Overall, very nice experience. Would have loved to see a few more options for salad dressings, soups and a few more hot food options.

Came here for family dinner - table for 7, which included my dad who uses a walker and my youngest son, who has food allergies. We were seated immediately and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. My dad had easy access to the table with a gorgeous view and the chef offered to prepare something custom specific to my son's dietary needs. Aside from him, we all got the buffet which was delicious. Pricier than the other ocean city buffets, but so worth it. The restaurant was clean and nice, the food was delicious and staff was incredibly friendly. The food was fresh and top notch - not normal buffet fare. It looked and tastes like something you could get at a high end restaurant. The manager checked in several times to make sure that the food was good and that we were satisfied with the meal for my youngest. Loved this place. Will definitely return.

Found this on Yelp, thank goodness because we wouldn't have been able to find this by just driving by since we stayed in Fenwick Island. We walked into the hotel it was located in and were a little weary. The restaurant was hard to find and since it was fairly early on a Saturday night (5:30 PM) it wasn't very busy. We were seated immediately. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the beach, but no seating directly next to the windows when there is a buffet. The restaurant is a little older, outdated but well kept. Beautiful large windows with tons of natural lighting. The seating is comfortable and private. There is even a TV inside for those wanting to catch a game during their meal. The buffet has prime rib, catch of the day selection, chilled old bay shrimp, cold and hot crab legs, raw oysters, custom pasta station and standard things for the kids or non-seafood lovers like lasagna, fried chicken, chicken tenders, macaroni an cheese and etc. They also have soup, bread and salad as well as a gourmet dessert station. The server we had was amazing. She was friendly, attentive and provided us with the entire menu before we went up. It's hard to find genuine good service like her these days. Everything we had was good. The crab legs were on point and not too salty which we were worried about. We were super pleased. The buffet is $37.95 and a good deal compared to the seafood buffets around us in MD. When we come back to Ocean City/Fenwick Island, this is where we'll go for AYCE crab legs!

After reading the reviews, my group of 6 decided to try the breakfast buffet. The place has a pretty beach view. As for the food, the potatoes were delicious, crispy bacon was good but everything else was pretty average. The apple juice was too warm and the oj had too much pulp. It was overall a decent experience.
(3)Matt S.
The price for the all you can eat seafood buffet was $40, but based on what others have said and my experience its worth it. From past experiences at place like OCB and Myrtle Beach, if an all you eat seafood buffet is cheap its probably because the buffet is terrible. The buffet had good crab legs, decent prime rib, and some other tasty items. The Maryland crab soup tasted like vegetable beef :( In all honesty I just wanted a buffet with all you can eat crabs legs, and this place is a good bet. Also, the setting was very nice/boarder line fancy (if you wear gym shorts you will feel out of place).

There are so many places in Ocean City that offer AYCE All-You-Can-Eat crabs/ seafood buffet. After much researching on Yelp, I chose Horizons Oceanfront Restaurant due to the recent favorable reviews, 2 of them were 5-star reviews by Elite Yelpers. We came here on a Saturday night. This restaurant is in the Clarion hotel. Parking was crazy, and I was afraid to park since there were signs that parking is for hotel guests only, and that your vehicle may get towed. There is parking at the hotel and the lot across the street. Found out that you can park there until midnight without the required guest pass. The other Yelpers did mention that AYCE is more expensive here, and I was prepared for that. It was $38 adult, $19 for kids under 12. The snow crab legs... OMG! .... were so juicy, meaty, and sweet.... made paying the little extra worth it! So glad I decided to go here. The oysters are ok. The steamed shrimped were served chilled and was good, but I wish they offered them hot. The prime rib was pretty good..yummy!. They also offer bbq ribs, carved ham, buttered corn, mac and cheese, a pasta station, and a lot of other stuff that I can't eat cause I'm gluten-free dairy free. We all agreed that this place is fantastic, and paying a little more was well worth it.

Probably one of the better seafood buffet's at OC. Anyone looking for AYCE crab legs and prime rib should come here. Please don't go to Embers or Phillips - they are just bad. Lucky for me, we were seated right next to the crab legs part of the buffet and boy did I enjoy them. I don't know how they make money off customers like me. I must of had four to five plates of them. Also, the prime rib was very tender and flavorful. The guy slicing it is an expert of cutting thin slices, so ask for a bigger slice or come back for seconds or thirds. I was so stuffed I didn't even try over 1/2 of their other items - we'll save that for our next visit.
(5)Heidi K.
No buffet on Sunday; Margaret was a wonderful server. The food was inconsistent. We enjoyed chilled crab app and filet. No choice for sides offered. Gnocchi was awful. No flavor. Beer on tap was so so. Flies were very annoying and we were indoors. Ugh. Then they didn't even take their own coupon offer----okay?????
(3)Matt B.
I thought this place was good compared to whats out there. I got the buffet. Its lot if I brought the whole family but was normal for my wife and I. Crab legs were good, fried chicken was good, prime rib was good (for a buffet). It wasnt gourment, but it tasted good. Crab soup was good too. I would go here again.

I got to say, I go to Horizons, at least twice every time I vacation in Ocean city Md. The food is very good to excellent. the Ham,prime rib, made to order pasta dishes are excellent as is the Mac and cheese. Up until this most recent visit July 2015 the snow crab legs have been top notch. On this visit the crab lags are still really good but I think they are adding a lot more salt to the pot, which reduces the amount of crab legs you can eat. This is disappointing as I go their for the all you can eat snow crab legs. I have been to many OC buffets Horizons at the Clearon hotel, is the best.

Was trying to find the best all-u-can eat seafood buffet in OCMD and there is no doubt we found it !! All the food was excellent from the prime rib to the crab legs down to the big chunks of crab in the Maryland crab soup. All the food was hot and tasty. The pasta device center made me a shrimp and scallop scampi that was to die for. The desert table was packed with a wonderful selection of sweets along with a ice cream sundae bar. Best of all they had Dogfish Head on tap ! I forgot to mention the parking. It's a little confusing due to the fact that there is no marked area for parking for the restaurant. It is ok to park in the lot which I only found out by asking the hostess after worrying my car was going to be towed. I think the hotel and/or restaurant could make that a little more clear on their signage....

My wife and I dined at Horizons for the first time tonight. It's restaurant week in O.C. so we opted to dine off of the special (and very limited) restaurant week menu. We both started with the seasonal pumpkin soup w/ apples and rosemary. The soup was very good, notwithstanding the occasional rosemary leaf that was a bit overpowering. I like strong flavors, so I enjoyed that. Others might night like it so much. For the entree, she got the scallops with sweet potatoes and I got the 12 oz. NY Strip (medium) drenched in mushroom sauce with veggies and a baked potato. The scallops were lightly swimming in butter - not our favorite preparation, but not surprising either. She pulled them out of the butter and let them drain. Overall the flavor was still pretty good. It's hard to kill scallops unless you overcook them. The sweet potatoes were very sweet - kind of like getting dessert for a side item. The New York Strip was cooked perfectly and tasted the best of everything. I scraped off most of the mushroom sauce, but with just a little left on it was delicious - the best part of both meals. We skipped dessert (both of us are trying to cut back on the carbs). The service was friendly, but the kitchen a bit slow - probably because of the restaurant week crowd. What's really holding the place back is the interior decor. It looks very dated (late 80s / mid-90s) and very little inside is "timeless" in its design. The place is in desperate need of a lifecycle renovation to bring it up to date... The carpets looked old and rather dingy considering the relative decent quality of the food being served. My wife said she could even smell the carpets a bit... Not good! Our bill came to $81.00 after tip for just the entrees, appetizers, and sodas... Had the ambiance been better, this probably would have been right on price-wise. But for what it was, I felt like the total should've been closer to $60 - $65. Even still, we'd recommend the place, and especially the 12 oz. NY strip and the pumpkin soup.

the price was pretty high but the atmosphere and food was well worth it! All you can eat crab legs shrimp etc. verry tasty .And afterwards you can go out on the back deck and enjoy live band and drinks on beach.Best time I had in OC
(5)Tim H.
View was awesome and the space is very nice, even though it's a bit dated. Service good. Food mediocre. Parking also a little difficult.
(3)jackie c.
i have to explain the parking first. because you are eating here you CAN park in the clarion lot, don't be fooled by the strict signage that you will get towed. you won't. the buffet/restaurant is INSIDE the hotel on the second floor, so confusing if you don't ask. the buffet here reminded me of a decent buffet at a cheap wedding. the food was decent but compared to many NYC buffets i am used to for the same price, it doesn't measure up. however, the pasta station was great. the prime rib was perfect and juicy. you can't go wrong with the crab legs. there wasn't much else seafood wise aside from that and cold raw oysters, clams and peel-it shrimp. everything else including dessert was just okay. the establishment itself had an amazing view. the decor screamed old school vegas casino. maybe it was because we went on a monday night, i'm guessing and hoping the quality is higher on the weekend.
(3)Cristie D.
I stayed for a conference and food was provided by this establishment. Lunch and dinner were great. A fresh salad, a veggie, two starches, and two entrees to choose from. All good. Hot. Breakfast buffet was ok. All was warm. A lot of pork. For someone who cannot eat pork another alternative would have been nice. Fruit, muffins, and cereal were available too. Desserts were outstanding. We even had an ice cream bar. Wonderful catering experience.
(4)Joanna G.
*breakfast review* sunday morning we were seated immediately. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Omelets are made on sight, along with waffles. Make your bagels sandwiches. There were also yummy patatoes , grits, pancakes, fruit and small desserts and awesome biscuits. Pretty good selection for a buffet. 15$ a person!
(5)Charlie C.
Trying to find the entrance to the restaurant was hell especially since me and my old lady was starving like marvin. Anywho, Horizons made up for all of that. We went for the buffet on a Friday night an hour before closing and the food was plentiful. In fact, they were still bringing food while we were there. The buffet was grest with good selections. The crab bisque is alllllllllll that! The service was impeccable! If you love seafood and a beautiful view this is the place. Make sure you go prepared to pay top dollar.
(5)Nicole B.
We went for the breakfast buffet on Sunday and came back for the dinner buffet on Thursday. It was yummy!! I loved the crab legs and the Maryland crab soup. The chocolate cheesecake was delicious!! After reading reviews about the other buffets, this is the only one we will go to in ocmd. We love it!!!
(5)Donna B.
One of the better seafood buffets, wait staff was always on point clearing our tables and refreshing our drinks. Nice selection of foods. Prime rib at the carving station was absolutely to die for!

My main reason for using Yelp is to find quality places/things I need while on vacation. I used Yelp to find where to go for an All You Can Eat Seafood Buffet and Horizons was rated the highest. Here is what I think. We were a party of 8 - 6 adults and 2 kids under the age of 2. In terms of the buffet, the main items were the prime rib, steamed crab legs and raw bar. The prime rib was done well. There was shaved raw horseradish available which is always a big hit with my family. The steamed crab legs were also excellent. They were the perfect balance of moisture, warmth and brine. The raw bar had oysters and clams. I did not have any of the clams. The oysters were ok. I say this because they were shucked but had a large amount of oyster shell in the shucked oyster so each oyster required a brief inspection to remove any shell bits prior to consumption. In terms of other seafood items on the bar, they had cold items that included crab legs and old bay spiced shrimp, fried clams, some kind of fish saturated in a thick sauce and a seafood medley with a thick cream sauce...and that was it. No steamed clams, no mussels, no broiled fish selections. There was a pasta station where you could custom order your pasta dish preference which we attempted and the result was ok. The rest of the buffet "filler" consisted of standard items such as french fries, ribs, fried chicken, mac n cheese, an assortment of salads, some fruit, dessert table and ice cream. It was a nice assortment to appease my toddler which always makes a dining experience more enjoyable. The restaurant, buffet and facility in general were very clean. The service was great. My toddler does tend to toss food on the floor (so embarrassing and we can't get him to stop once he starts) and the staff was great. They never once expressed any level of frustration or anger with us which we really appreciated. My reason for giving Horizons a 4 is because, what they had was pretty good for the most part, the service was great and the place was clean. There are nice views of the ocean as well, but in terms of all you can eat SEAFOOD buffet, the seafood items did not include a very large variety.
(4)Kevin W.
Went for dinner, quality of food was pretty good. Was a little disappointed in the number of seafood options. Crab legs were delicious. Pasta station and prime rib station were excellent.
(4)Jay B.
We went for breakfast buffet on a Friday morning. It was busy because it was raining and it was july 4th weekend. The service was excellent and the buffet was great value for $11.95 and $8.95 for kids. The omelette chef was amazingly fast. Would defineately recommend the breakfast buffet. I would have given 5 stars but the bacon was a little inconsistently cooked, sometimes a little undercooked.
(4)Brandy M.
Highly recommend!! Great Buffet, great atmosphere, great service....we will definitely be returning to this restaurant! The all you can eat buffet is very good quality with many choices...full of seafood and the prime rib was amazing!
(5)Nina B.
Buffet was mediocre. Biscuits were hard, sausage tasted reheated, the OJ was so thick it stayed on my straw even when I wasn't drinking it. The staff were very nice and would get 5 stars
(3)Tray C.
Awesome place. View of ocean is beautiful. Great AYCE buffet w snow crab legs. Everything was fresh and DELICIOUS!! Wait staff is attentive. Spare ribs, prime rib, shellfish, and a great pasta station. Restaurant is a bit fancy, was initially worried about being underdressed in jeans. When the place filled up, most were in jeans.
(5)Carie P.
Great tasting seafood buffet and not busy at all. Crab legs, steamed shrimp, clams, oysters, ribs, ham, best prime rib I've had on a buffet! Desserts were delicious and good selection. Would be 5 stars but hindered by $34.95 price tag...but better than Bonfire and Embers by far in food quality and no screaming children or trashy patrons eating in the buffet line. Wait staff was attentive and friendly.
(4)Douglas B.
Really enjoyed our experience here. I went in Dec. on a night there was no buffet but definetly want to try it. A good buffet could bump my rating to 5 because its already a strong 4. The things that kept it from a 5 were it was the price (entrees $22-48) and you don't get to select your sides, it's chefs choice. The night I was there they were mixed veg and baked potato. Both were ok. Now the good parts. We got excellent service. The atmosphere was really nice, candlelight type atmosphere but not pretentious, no dress code but nicer clothes are appropriate and kids are ok. We had ours with us and there is a kids menu. This was the scene when we were there although there was an area for band and dancing at other times. We got nachos for an app, probably geared towards bar but they were excellent. Enough for all of us with lots of toppings. My wife got crab imperial and loved it. It had a little tang to it, almost like sweet peppery, but again, she loved it and the serving size was generous. I got the "Annapolis Roughy" which was orange roughy and imperial and it was also very good. We would definetly go back here, most likely for the buffet because the combination of the good reviews on here and the pictures of it there had my mouth watering.

I ate there with my wife and three kids for the seafood buffet on a Thursday night in early August 2012. The restaurant was not particularly busy. The buffet had good selections, although less than some of the other buffets in town. Generally, the food that was there was good, but since it was not busy that night, much of it had been sitting for a long time. The items that made the buffet worth the large price tag, or at least close to worth it, and earned it this rating, were the crab legs and prime rib. The crab legs were cooked properly, were refilled regularly, and were everything they should be. The prime rib, and maybe I just hit them for the right roast, was astounding. It had a flavorful spice rub, and was fork tender. I would go back just for that as it was some of the best prime rib I have had in a long time. Note that even non-alcoholic drinks are not included in the price of the buffet and that will add $10.00 for a family of four. Also, if you are planning on eating for a while, get there early. They close down pretty promptly at 10:00 p.m. and they seat until at least 9:00 p.m., so time can be tight if you come late - especially for dessert. The service was very good. Overall, I would recommend this as a crab legs and prime rib dinner for the price, considering that it is Ocean City summer prices. If you aren't going to eat these items, then the price will not be justified.

I had a friend in town from New Orleans in July and we decided to have dinner at Horizon's. It was a perfect choice since he wanted to taste all of the local seafood they had to offer. It was a little more pricey than some other places that we could have ventured to. However, I feel it was well worth it and it is also a really nice place. The server took really great care of us and I will definitely return.

I was not expecting such a wonderful meal at this ocean front hotel restaurant! My parents ordered the Silverado Chardonnay (order by the bottle and it is 30% off, a welcomed surprise!) which was lovely and I had one of my favs Erath Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley, OR. For an appetizer I had the crab meat and parmesan dip which was good, with large lumps of crab meat. For an entre I had the surf and turf (which btw on sunday-thursdays 5-7pm entres are 50% off on the regular menu). It was awesome! Lobster was perfect, the fillet was cooked ridiculously well, like wow! Veggies and baked potato were yummy too. Since we were in Maryland, my step dad insisted on crab cakes. They were phenomenally done, broiled to perfection with just jumbo lump crab meat (almost no breading). For dessert we had the angel food cake with custard and coconut and pineapple and the chocolate kahlua cake YUM! The second night we went, the food was once again perfectly cooked and seasoned. Unfortunately, they only had one bottle of the Silverado left, but they had a huge wince selection and we went for the Kendal Jackson Reserve. To make up for not having the wine we liked, our waiter Adam got a us an even bigger discount on the wine as well as brought an extra dessert for my mother, homemade raspberry pie like I have never had or experienced, so deliciously light and refreshing! Although we did go to other restaurants, we noted the exceptional service at this restaurant which put the others to shame!

This is the best buffet in Ocean City. Beautiful atmosphere, very happy & helpful staff & the food was GREAT. I accidentaly got cold Alaskan King Crab legs but when I ate them they were so good & sweet. The hot ones were just as delicious. Fried clams were the biggest I had seen & were not rubbery. The seafood newburg was great with the rice. There was also a baked fish with sliced almonds on it that was really good. Dessert selections were plentiful & I had what might have been the best carrot cake ever. There were other items such as fried chicken, ribs & prime rib that I didn't eat but my roommate said the prime rib was awesome. It is a little pricier (at $35) than probably all the other seafood buffets but having been to most of them there is no comparison. Last two times I went to the Bonfire, about $30, everything was mushy, & overcooked. I'll gladly pay the extra to have this great food & experience. Oh there's also a beautiful view of the ocean!
